Donate Your Equipment to UACNJ
Do you have a telescope gathering dust in the basement? A pair of binoculars you haven't used in years? Astronomy books sitting
on a shelf waiting for a new reader? We'd love to give them a second life!
UACNJ gratefully accepts donations of space and astronomy-related equipment. Items that we can put to use will go directly into service at our observatory or in our community outreach programs. Anything we can't use ourselves will be sold, with all proceeds going toward the upkeep of the observatory and our continued mission of sharing the night sky with the public.
Don't let an incomplete or damaged item give you pause. Equipment that is missing parts, in need of repair, or no longer fully functional is still very welcome. Our volunteers are often able to repurpose components, salvage usable parts, or use pieces to keep other instruments running. What might seem like junk to you could be exactly the spare part we've been looking for.

What We Accept
We welcome donations of astronomy and space-related items including, but not limited to:
- Telescopes and telescope accessories (eyepieces, mounts, finders, focusers)
- Binoculars and spotting scopes
- Cameras and astrophotography equipment
- Tripods and mounts
- Astronomy books, star atlases, and magazines
- Optics and optical accessories
- Other space and science-related items

How to Donate
The easiest way to get started is to send us an email describing what you have. Please include a brief description of the item
and its general condition. Photos are always helpful but not required. We'll get back to you to arrange a time for drop-off
or, in some cases, pick-up.
