2017 Solar Eclipse Information

Viewing at UACNJ
UACNJ will open up for a special solar eclipse viewing event, 12:30-4pm.
Some solar glasses are still available. Due to demand for solar glasses, we are limiting sales to 2 per family. Glasses are available on a first come, first serve basis.
In addition to solar glasses, we will have other means to watch the eclipse on site.

In the event we run out of parking, we have secured an additional parking lot that is a short 1.1mile walk from our facility. Signs will be posted.

We will have water & soda available for purchase.

Eclipse Specifics
On Monday, August 21, 2017, all of North America will be treated to an eclipse of the sun. Anyone within the path of totality can see one of nature's most awe inspiring sights - a total solar eclipse. This path, where the moon will completely cover the sun and the sun's tenuous atmosphere - the corona - can be seen, will stretch from Salem, Oregon to Charleston, South Carolina. Observers outside this path will still see a partial solar eclipse where the moon covers part of the sun's disk.

UACNJ is not on the path for a total eclipse (see map below for totality path), but we will be able to see about 75% coverage.

For the tri-state area, the partial eclipse will begin around 1:20pm, and last until around 4:00pm.
